Ages 9-12

 Junior/Pre-Teen Acro 

Tue 5:00-6:00

This class focuses on enhancing essential acro and tumbling skills by increasing difficulty based on each student's abilities. Emphasis is placed on learning basic technique and developing the strength required to progress with different apparatuses, doing so with safety as a priority. From cartwheels, to limbers, and handsprings, students will focus on drills and skills to reach their goals.

NOTE: All acro/tumble classes, participate in our end of the season Gym Show at the studio which is held separately from the annual Recital. â€‹â€‹

 Junior Ballet (1) 

Tue 4:00-5:00

One of two ballet options for our Junior dancers, this class is intended for dancers transitioning towards a more intermediate level of ballet and are looking to take their training to the next level. Dancers have the opportunity to continue to refine their ballet skills as they continue to strengthen their basics as well as transition to more challenging concepts and steps. The focus of this class remains on proper placements and body alignment, ballet technique, and quality of movement and steps while continuing to develop general ballet skills including posture, grace, strength, control and musicality. â€‹

 Junior CLI 

Wed 6:45-7:30

What began 10 years ago as an online educational training program has evolved into an exciting in-person experience. Students have the opportunity to learn and train with extraordinarily talented pre-professional dancers from around the world who are currently attending the CLI Conservatory. With the Conservatory just up the street in Southampton, MA, we are honored to welcome many of the exceptional talents the students bring in to teach weekly classes right here at HSPA - each week brings a new instructor sharing their unique choreography and passion. This class is highly recommended for intermediate/advanced students and is open to all local dancers seeking to enhance their versatility and gain exposure to various styles. We consider this class a major catalyst for our students who have achieved significant success over the years. The CLI class operates on a monthly membership basis. Don't miss out—join today!

 Junior Hip-Hop 

Dive into the rhythm and energy of Hip-Hop with this intermediate-level class designed to assist dancers in elevating their skills. Building on foundational techniques, this class delves deeper into dynamic footwork, advanced body isolations, and creative street-style grooves. Students will explore contemporary Hip-Hop choreography and develop a strong sense of musicality and personal expression. Expect to engage with age-appropriate music and movements that challenge and inspire, fostering both physical agility and artistic growth.

 Steppin' Up to Tap 

Thur 5:00-5:45 - TEMPORARILY ON HOLD

Our Junior/Pre-teen tap class specifically designed for beginner and second-year students who would like to learn basic tap skills among peers their own age. Be prepared to dive into the world of TAP - learning basic footwork, rhythm patterns, musicality and syncopation, all while having lots of fun!!​

 Junior/Pre-Teen Technique

Our Technique/Progression/Skills class is designed to enhance every dancer's technical ability through a comprehensive approach. Each week, students engage in targeted stretching and flexibility exercises, strength training, and the fundamental techniques in jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance. This class emphasizes the development of progressions with leaps, turns, and other essential skills to advance dancers' technical proficiency. By focusing on these core elements, we ensure continuous improvement and a solid foundation for all levels of advancement.
