Junior/Pre-Teen Acro
Fri 5:00-6:00
This class focuses on enhancing essential acro and tumbling skills by increasing difficulty based on each student's abilities. Emphasis is placed on learning basic technique and developing the strength required to progress with different apparatuses, doing so with safety as a priority.
From cartwheels, to limbers, and handsprings, students will focus on drills and skills to reach their goals.

NOTE: All acro/tumble classes, participate in our end of the season Gym Show at the studio which is held separately from the annual Recital. ​​


Junior Ballet (1)

One of two ballet options for our Junior dancers, this class is intended for dancers transitioning towards a more intermediate level of ballet and are looking to take their training to the next level.
Dancers have the opportunity to continue to refine their ballet skills as they continue to strengthen their basics as well as transition to more challenging concepts and steps. The focus of this class remains on proper placements and body alignment, ballet technique, and quality of movement and steps while continuing to develop general ballet skills including posture, grace, strength, control and musicality. ​

Junior/Pre-Teen Ballroom

Discover the fun and excitement of ballroom dancing, now an HSPA student favorite, offering a perfect blend of technique and style, featuring everything from the smooth rumba to the lively jive, and cha-cha. In ballroom class, dancers learn graceful, fluid movements that align with the rhythmic and harmonic aspects of the music. The focus is on dynamic energy, poised control, and expressive, lyrical execution, capturing both elegance and the intricate details of the dance.

Junior CLI

What began 10 years ago as an online educational training program has evolved into an exciting in-person experience. Students have the opportunity to learn and train with extraordinarily talented pre-professional dancers from around the world who are currently attending the CLI Conservatory. With the Conservatory just up the street in Southampton, MA, we are honored to welcome many of the exceptional talents the students bring in to teach weekly classes right here at HSPA - each week brings a new instructor sharing their unique choreography and passion. This class is highly recommended for intermediate/advanced students and is open to all local dancers seeking to enhance their versatility and gain exposure to various styles. We consider this class a major catalyst for our students who have achieved significant success over the years. The CLI class operates on a monthly membership basis. Don't miss out—join today!​

Dive into the rhythm and energy of Hip-Hop with this intermediate-level class designed to assist dancers in elevating their skills. Building on foundational techniques, this class delves deeper into dynamic footwork, advanced body isolations, and creative street-style grooves. Students will explore contemporary Hip-Hop choreography and develop a strong sense of musicality and personal expression.
Expect to engage with age-appropriate music and movements that challenge and inspire, fostering both physical agility and artistic growth.

Junior/Pre-Teen Technique

Our Technique/Progression/Skills class is designed to enhance every dancer's technical ability through a comprehensive approach. Each week, students engage in targeted stretching and flexibility exercises, strength training, and the fundamental techniques in jazz, ballet, and contemporary dance. This class emphasizes the development of progressions with leaps, turns, and other essential skills to advance dancers' technical proficiency. By focusing on these core elements, we ensure continuous improvement and a solid foundation for all levels of advancement.

Rhythm Rookies

Get those feet ready to tap and hands ready to clap in our Rhythm Rookies class!

Take the next step in your tap dance training with our Rhythm Rookies class - designed for dancers looking to improve their tap skills, interested in taking tap again after a break, or wanting to give something new a try!
​
Students will improve their skills in learning about tempo, syncopation, the ability to count music, and the appreciation for rhythmic sounds created by the feet throughout this class. As well as further developing coordination, balance, and overall musicality awareness - all of which are an integral part of learning all styles of dance.

Steppin' Up to Tap

Step on up to tap with us - we are bringing this class BACK!
Full of rhythms, tap steps, musicality, and so much more, students will review the tap basics while also learning many fun, new steps. Each week will be filled with new rhythms and combinations to allow students to take their tap skills to the next step!

No prior tap experience needed - all levels welcome to tap on in and give class a try! If able, at least one year of our Rhythm Rookies class is suggested prior to joining this class.

Street Beat

Teen Jazz/Contemporary Combo
Thur 5:00-6:00
High energy, bold lines, and fierce style, while also exploring the art of storytelling through movement. This class combines classic jazz technique with modern fusion elements for dancers who love power, performance, and rhythm plus aspects of lyrical/contemporary styles to build emotional expression, musicality, and fluid technique. Dancers will focus on control, connection, and creative choreography that inspires both mind and body.
